Community and Basic Health Project
Project description
To provide coherence to its ongoing health programmes, and moreover to better integrate health care reform projects in Tajikistan, the SDC found it rational to co-fund the World Bank “Community and Basic Health Project” (CBHP) which is seen also as a ground work for a future Sector Wide Approach (SWAP) in health sector.

As stated in the World Bank project document, the CBHP will have four components:
- Strengthening policy, planning and donor coordination within the Ministry of Health.
- Implementing organizational and financing reforms.
- Strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) in selected districts.
- Financing a Project Implementation unit.
Each of the four project components implies the implementation of a broad range of activities to ultimately reach the objective.Objectives
- Increase access to health services
- Increase utilization of health services
- Increase patient satisfaction with health services
- Build capacity and efficiency at national, provinces and districts levels in administering of Primary Health Care (PHC) finance
