The Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine runs its own website.

Since the early nineties Switzerland has been supporting Ukraine through a number of bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects. In 1997 Switzerland and Ukraine signed a bilateral agreement for technical cooperation and the Swiss Cooperation Office was opened in Kiev. Project activities aim at the support of the transition process to democracy and market economy with special focus on good governance, economic and social development and environmental questions.

Priority projects in the health sector: improve health care for mothers and children; installations for providing drinking water in a region inhabited by minorities; improvement in the training of social workers and in social services

Sentenced to die? Tuberculosis control in prisons with a focus on the Republics of the former Soviet Union (02.2002)
Russia and the Former Soviet States have some of the world's highest per capita prison populations. The increasing poverty and the lack of efficient public health control fuels the tuberculosis (TB) epidemic in the region. Rates of active tuberculosis amongst prisoners are known to be up o 50 times higher than the rates of the civilian population. TB is a major cause of sickness and death in prisons. Financial and technical assistance by the international community in this field are greatly needed, but demand highly professional approaches in order not to do more harm than good.
